Preserving History, Honoring Legacy, Elevating Impact:
The Story of the Mustangs 40th Anniversary
Mustangs of Las Colinas 40th Anniversary Celebration
As the marketing and events lead for the Mustangs of Las Colinas 40th Anniversary, I developed and executed a
comprehensive marketing strategy while managing all aspects of the signature celebration event,
Sunset on the Plaza. This high-profile initiative honored the legacy of the world-renowned sculpture and its artist, Robert Glen, engaging a broad audience through
strategic branding, media outreach, digital engagement, and in-person experiences.
Branding & Marketing Strategy
- Developed a distinctive 40th Anniversary logo and brand identity for use across promotional materials, merchandise, and digital platforms.
- Led a multi-platform marketing campaign, leveraging email, social media, website content, and print materials to maximize engagement.
- Secured extensive media coverage, including features on ICTN, CBS, and major local outlets, ensuring widespread visibility.
- Wrote and distributed a press release, picked up by multiple local news sources, further expanding awareness.
Mustangs Memories Digital Campaign
One of the most impactful elements of the anniversary celebration was the Mustangs Memories webpage,
a digital storytelling platform that I conceived, designed, and developed from start to finish.
This interactive project captured the sculpture’s legacy through a curated collection of 40 personal stories submitted by the community.
- Created an intuitive online submission process, secured permissions, and produced all digital assets for a seamless user experience.
- Led the 40 Days of Mustangs Memories social media campaign, publishing daily content leading up to the event.
- The webpage received widespread praise from Mustangs enthusiasts, local and national media, city leadership,
museum professionals, and the artist’s family. - Successfully engaged the community, deepened appreciation for the sculpture’s history, and
elevated the museum’s online presence.
Event Planning & Execution: Sunset on the Plaza
- Planned and managed the final celebration event, including invitations, catering, guest speakers,
program development, and logistics. - Coordinated a champagne toast in custom commemorative flutes, securing and managing all event supplies.
- Designed and produced three commemorative, collectible items—champagne flutes, leather coasters,
and T-shirts—to mark the occasion. - Oversaw public relations, digital advertising, and promotional partnerships to ensure
strong attendance and community engagement.
